Cafe YVR Latte Art Invitational
Unlike any other latte art throwdown you’ve seen before, you will see baristas pouring their latte art and also taking a photograph of their drink. While the appearance of the latte art design will weigh heavily, it will also be fun to see baristas take on the role of a customer to come up with a unique photograph of their creation. Every competitor will pour one drink each and take a photograph and our three judges will rank the designs with the final two competitors facing off in a more traditional throwdown to declare the winner.
The Latte Art Invitational has coffee sponsored from 32 Lakes in Powell River, BC.
Prizes for the top three winners of the contest comes from Genius Coffee N’Espresso Equipment in Vancouver, BC.
$20 collected prior to the event

Note: AeroPress Competitors
If you are competing in AeroPress we will work as best we can around your schedule so you can prepare for your round but still get in your practice time and pour your drink to be judged prior to the finals.
You get to pour one drink each. Any design you want but no etching into.
Any sized cup that is on bar at The American Cafe.
After you finish pouring you will need to take a photograph of your drink and send it to an email given to you at the event.
You can bring your own props and set them up prior to pouring your drink for your photograph.
All the designs will be ranked by the latte art and with a partial score given to the creativity of your photograph.
You can bring anything to the event that you want to use to make a more creative photograph. The quality of the photograph isn't super important so a photo on smartphone is good.
Same rules as above but three judges will decide the winner based on a traditional latte art throwdown.
The winning cup will entail:
Clean lines, contrast
Bonus points for surface tension
